So a couple of weeks ago, I popped over to the other coast and visited a favourite place of mine, Marazion. One of Britains oldest towns and the home to St Michaels Mount, Marazion is one Cornwall’s most popular tourist destinations and is a great place to visit at any time of the year. I was lucky enough to take some photographs of a beautifully restored cottage in the town, that used to be the towns Old Forge. Its gorgeous and whilst contemporary, it has retained many original features. Dogs are also welcome so it makes a perfect, relaxing base to explore West Cornwall and specifically Marazion.
Here are a couple of things which, depending on the time of year, are not to be missed when visiting Marazion:
St Michael’s Mount. This goes without saying, that you need to take a trip across the bay to see the Mount. Catch a boat at high tide or walk across the causeway at low tide and experience this amazing place. Nearly 300,000 paying visitors climb up to the castle on St Michael’s Mount every year.
Christmas Eve. In the town square, everyone gets a real treat when Father Christmas arrives on a sleigh pulled by a donkey and hands out presents to all the children of the town.
