Each year, around this time in December and leading up to Christmas, we see lots of community run events in St Ives that help make the season so special for everyone - locals and visitors. Around this time, Father Christmas sets up his grotto at The Glass Tree in Fore Street and the town provides a really warm welcome to him. Normally, he arrives on the Lifeboat and then leads a small procession around the town until we all arrive at his home for the next 2 or 3 weeks. However, wiith the tide being out this year, he took a small ride across the beach on the Lifeboat/Tractor from the quay to the Sloop slipway and there waiting for him to arrive was 3 camels! They then paraded around the town behind Father Christmas. It was certainly different but the children (and adults) loved it. These are just a few photos from the evening.
